We selected this area as we wanted some space, but needed to be reasonably close to the city. We're glad we did. Where else are you a twenty five minute drive from all that Ottawa has to offer, and yet can still make your own maple syrup in your back yard! The most appealing thing is that we have the peace and quiet of the country, where on summer nights you can be serenaded by chirping of crickets and choruses of bull frogs, but the city is just minutes away. It really is the best of both worlds. It is like having a country retreat .... without the commute.

We wanted to live in a neighbourhood but still wanted a larger lot for our boys to have fun on. Rideau Forest gives has both of these attributes and gives us the peace and solitude that we were looking for. The neighbours that we have are fantastic and we feel privileged to be part of the area. The serenity and quietness is wonderful and we would most definitely continue to live in Rideau Forest should we decide to build again.

My husband and I both grew up in the country, and we both agreed we wanted to build our house outside of the city. Rideau Forest gives us the perfect combination - close to Ottawa, but far enough out that we get that "country" feel. We plan on being here for the next 20 years or more. The area is great for our kids. We take our 2 year old son to the park down the street quite often and we bike around the neighborhood all of the time. Traffic volume is very low so it makes biking much safer. There are a lot of young families on our street and everyone is very friendly. I know our children will have plenty of neighborhood kids to play with in the years ahead.

In Rideau Forest we were able to build a custom home on a naturally treed private lot. Design and construction guidelines are enforced which ensure your investment.
